Travelling Internationally
For those of you traveling from Brazil or Europe to join us for our wedding in South Africa, we want you to have the best time in a country that's so close to our hearts. To help make your trip as enjoyable and smooth as possible, we’ve prepared some important tips just for you.

01
Flight Connectivity
Direct flights are available from São Paulo to Cape Town via South African Airways, making it easy for travelers from Brazil to reach Cape Town in approximately 6 hours.
For travelers from Europe, direct flights to Cape Town International Airport are available from cities like London, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam.
03
Vaccinations
Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for travelers coming from Brazil. South Africa requires proof of vaccination via an International Certificate of Vaccination. Travelers should apply for this certificate through the official Brazilian government website: Official Certificate of Vaccination - Brazilian Government. Simply having vaccination records from a clinic will not be sufficient.
Travelers from Europe: No yellow fever vaccination is required, as South Africa is not a yellow fever risk country.
02
Visas
Brazilian and European (EU/EEA) citizens do not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days in South Africa for tourism or business purposes.
04
Bespoke Travel Assistance
We’ve partnered with The Cool Guide, a boutique travel agency run by my dear friend Julia Godinho. Getting to the Venue
The wedding ceremony and reception will take place at:
Johannesdal 1207
Helshoogte Road,
Pniel, 7681, Stellenbosch,
Western Cape, South Africa
+27 78 883 4015
For guests staying in Cape Town, there are a few great ways to reach Johannesdal, all of which will take you approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Here are the best options:
I. By Car (Self-Drive):
-
Plan your trip on google maps.
II. By Private Shuttle:
-
Many local shuttle services offer transfers from Cape Town to the Stellenbosch area. You can arrange a private shuttle to take you directly to Johannesdal Villa.
-
Where to book: You can book through your hotel, a travel agent, or use services like Cape Town Shuttle Services, Stellenbosch Shuttle, or Andiamo Tours (our go-to choice).
III. By Taxi or Ride-Hailing Service (e.g., Uber):
-
Cost: Expect to pay a higher fee compared to renting a car, especially since the trip is slightly outside of Cape Town.
-
Tip: Always check the fare before booking, as rates can vary depending on the time of day and traffic. We suggest Uber Black is the safer option.
Avoid Trains and Public Taxis:
Trains and unfamiliar taxis are less predictable and are not the safest choice, especially for those new to the area. For peace of mind and a smoother journey, we highly recommend using a private shuttle or ride-hailing service directly from Cape Town to Johannesdal.
Where to Stay
Cape Town offers a variety of stunning areas to stay, each with its own unique charm. Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat or a lively spot by the beach, we’ve got you covered with some of our top recommendations.
Please note that this will be peak season in Cape Town, and accommodation tends to book incredibly fast. We highly recommend securing your stay as soon as possible to ensure you find the perfect spot for your visit!
